My Not That Exciting but Perfectly Fine Life

Baby Shower

This last weekend Elissa and I took another road trip...this time we went to Carmel for our cousin Stephanie's baby shower. It was great to see family and be there to support Stephanie and Jeff and their little one on the way. Here's my cousin Debbie and her daughter Victoria, and below them is my cousin Amy.

As you know, every baby shower has to have games. Well, this one was no exception. One of my favorite games was guessing what kind of "baby poop" was in eight different diapers. They had taken 8 different kinds of chocolate and smashed them up and placed them in diapers. Some of them looked like the real thing...it was quite difficult at first to convince myself to smell it in order to make a good guess. I must admit...it was a funny site. You can see Aunt Nancy and Aunt Joanie were getting a kick out of it too!

In another game, they had three ladies...the grandma's to be and great grandma...race to see who could drink 3 oz of apple juice out of a bottle. They found it more difficult than they expected...it too was quite funny to watch. Here they are guzzeling it down!

Overall, it was a fun time together and I'm looking forward to family reunion in August when we can spend more time together!

Road Trip and More

The last two weeks have been what feels like one big whirlwind! It started off by going to the CBA Advance Expo in Indy for work. We went to see what books are coming out soon so we can be at the forefront in scheduling interviews with authors of new releases. We also got to see a pre-screening of Amazing Grace and The Last Sin Eater. Both movies were really good, but I'd have to say my favorite of the two was Amazing Grace. It's the story of William Wilberforce...an abolitionist in the 1800's. It was very well done and had a message worth talking about. The Last Sin Eater also has a message worth talking about, but the book by Francine Rivers captures the story better than the movie. It never fails...books are always better.

After spending a few days in Indianapolis, Andy, Elissa and I took a road trip to Sumner to see Grandpa Bennett. He's quite lonely these days. We arrived on Feb 2, the 1 year anniverary of Grandma Verna's death. So, it was good we could be with Grandpa at that time. I think the best part of the trip for me was being able to put my hand on Elissa's tummy and feel the baby kicking and moving around!

You can see how much the baby is growing in the pics above! I'm excited to meet my nephew soon...he's due at the end of April.

And to finish off the weekend, I went to a Super Bowl party hosted by Karri...one of the girls in our small group. Above you'll see Christin and Michelle sporting their support for the Colts. This pic was taken after the big win, ofcourse. We had a few Bears fans at the party...but they left early...I think they saw it coming.

On another note, have you heard about the New 7 Wonders of the World? There is a campaign going right now and you can vote for the new 7 Wonders of the world at www.new7wonders.com. There is only one of the ancient 7 Wonders of the World still standing...the pyramids. You can learn all about the candidates on the above website and then vote for your favorite. They are taking votes through this summer and will announce the New7Wonders on 07.07.07. Clever, huh? I still haven't decided which of the 21 options is my favorite.
